Introduction to Marincess

My name is

. I am the deck helper for Marincess and I'll welcome you to this guide to Marincess.

Marincess is a WATER Attribute Cyberse Link Archetype from the Essence of Flora and Ocean Pack and Cosmic Ocean Pack which is only available for a limited time.

Marincess main focus is relying on combos to build your Links into an unaffected boss monster with a high attack stat. Marincess also packs a very high recovery rate returning resources it has used back to your hand ready for its next turn plays.

Our main win condition is mainly having high attack beat sticks and beating over the opponent's monsters by battle and dealing high chunks of damage to their life points. Marincess is mainly a go first deck getting the boss monster out with far less interruptions to deal with. But can perform decently going second but at more risk of disruption depending on the opponent's board and hand.

Right let's get down to the core cards.

Core Cards:

Main Deck:

Marincess Blue Tang

Blue tang is one of our best Starters. If Normal or Special Summoned, she can send 1 Marincess monster from our deck to the GY. Usually, our main target to send to the GY via her effect is Loading... , Loading... or Loading... . When she is used as a Link material for a WATER Monster. She may add 1 Marincess card from the top 3 cards from your deck.

Marincess Sea Horse

Sea Horse is one of our best extender and starter. She can inherit Special Summon herself to a zone a Marincess Link monster point to. Cause of this, she can synergise well with Loading... effect by using Sea horse as a starter. Sea Horse as an extender provides most of our main Marincess plays by her Special Summon effect making her mandatory for every Marincess Deck. She also has a GY effect where she can banish herself to Special Summon any WATER monster from your hand to a zone a Marincess Link monster point to. But that effect can't be used the same turn she is sent to the GY.

Marincess Pascalus

Probably one of our more annoying starters but she can be one of our best starters based on our hand. If Normal or Special Summoned, she can Special Summon any Marincess monster from our hand in defense position except for another Pascalus. Her effect to Special Summon 1 Marincess from our hand provides most of the 2 card and potential 3 card combos making her a very good card overall in the deck. While she can brick in our hand if we have no Marincess or extender, it's the risk we got to take as her being a combo starter is that important for Marincess. She also has a strong GY effect by banishing herself to return one of our Marincess Spell or Traps from our GY to our hand. But that effect can’t be used the same turn she is sent to the GY.

Marincess Mandarin

Mandarin is another one of our extenders. If in our hand or GY while we have 2 or more Marincess monsters on our field. She can target 1 WATER Link we control and Special Summon herself to a zone that Link monster points to. But she will be banished when she leaves the field. Her effect allows out to extend our combos to achieve our 2-card combo board. Her being banished allows us to perform our Turn 3 combo with Loading... for our potential win condition.

Marincess Springirl

Springirl is another one of our extenders and can act as a starter. She can banish 1 Marincess monster from our GY to Special Summon her from our hand. When she is used for a Link summon of a WATER monster, she can mill cards from the top our deck to the GY equal to the number of Marincess monsters we control and inflict burn damage. While this effect doesn't seem useful. it's good for chain blocking Loading... effect from Loading... .

Marincess Sleepy Maiden

Sleepy is another one of our extenders. She can Special Summon herself from our hand by targeting 1 Marincess card we control, and that card cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects while Sleepy Maiden is on the field. This effect is mostly irrelevant as we mostly use Sleepy Maiden as Link material immediately after summoning her. She has a second effect where she can banish herself from the GY and Equip 1 Marincess Link Monster from our GY to one of our Marincess Link Monster on our field. These synergies well with Loading... without the need of Loading... .

Marincess Battle Ocean

Ocean is our main field spell. This card makes Marincess win games. It grants the unaffected status on any of our Link monsters that used Loading... as a Link material and it gives any Marincess Link monster we summon the option to equip up to 3 Marincess Link monsters from our GY to give it 600 ATK per Marincess card Equipped + an additional 200 ATK on all our Marincess monsters.

Ocean is not a once per turn effect on Equipping monsters so you can perform later turn combo plays by equipping Loading... to you Link summoned Blue Slug and Link her off sending Loading... to the GY triggering her effect to return a Marincess card from our GY to our hand/Extra deck for extra plays.

Ocean also not being a once per turn makes it a safety net when summoning Loading... when using Loading... as a Link Material mid combo by equipping Loading... and Loading... to her giving her 1200+ ATK + 200 via ocean. We use Loading... effect to summon Loading... but then opponent plays Loading... tributing Loading... but not Loading... because she is unaffected by Loading... effect. Since we equipped 2 Marincess Link Monsters to Loading... midcombo as Nibiru interrupted our combo and potentially ended our turn. Coral will be 3400 ATK making her able to attack over Loading... or safe from Loading... attacking over Loading... .

Marincess Wave

Wave is our best Marincess Trap card. It provides 3 roles in order depending on your Marincess Link you have in play.

Link 1+: Target negates 1 of your opponent's monsters.

Link 2+: Gives all your current monsters on the field unaffected by your opponent's card effects. Both these effects last until the end of the turn.

Link 3+: You can play this card from your hand.

Marincess relies a lot on Wave, and we usually search it via Loading... effect.

Marincess Dive

Marincess Dive is one of our best cards for multiple reasons. First, we can choose 1 of the 2 effects. Special Summon 1 non-Link Marincess monster from our GY OR Special Summon 1 Marincess Monster from our deck if Loading... is in play. This allows our strong extension plays based on what situation we in and what combo board we are going for. Do note you can only activate 1 Dive per turn and will be locked into WATER monsters for the rest of this turn after resolution.

Extra Deck:

Marincess Blue Slug

Blue Slug is one of our best Link starters. She can recycle any of our Marincess monsters in our GY back to our hand/Extra deck. Her Link arrow pointing downwards provides extension play with Loading... Special Summon from the hand effect. Do note if you activate Blue Slug effect, you will be locked in WATER Monsters for the rest of this turn. So do note when you summon her and you going for Loading... play, don't use her effect.

Marincess Sea Angel

Sea Angel is our Marincess Spell searcher. She can add either Loading... or Loading... . She can guarantee our main optimal plays by searching our field spell. Do note that Sea Angel points to the Left so be careful on making your plays like with Loading... inherit Special Summon effect.

Marincess Coral Anemone

Coral Anemone is one of our best Link 2 monsters. She can Special Summon any WATER monster with 1500 or less ATK back on your field to a zone she points to, making us extend our plays into our boss monster. She also has a floating effect if sent from the field to the GY. You can return 1 of your Marincess cards back to your hand/Extra deck. Do note that if you activate her first effect, you will be locked in WATER Monsters for the rest of this turn.

Marincess Crystal Heart

Crystal heart is our main piece in our combo. She will provide any Link monster that we summon using her as Link material to be unaffected by your opponent's card effects while Loading... is in play (on our side). She also has an additional effect of protecting herself from battle by discarding 1 Marincess card but this effect is irrelevant most of the time as she is used for as a Link summon immediately after she is summoned in nearly all cases.

Marincess Marbled Rock

Marbled rock is one of our Semi-boss monsters. She provides all the resource recovery the deck needs. One during your turn, you can return 1 Marincess card from your GY back to your hand/Extra Deck providing resources for your plays or disrupting your opponent as she can return Loading... from our GY back to our hand also. She also has a battle protection effect to any of our monsters to prevent both battling monsters from being destroyed by battle and reduce battle damage to 0 by discarding 1 Marincess monster. This effect is hand to keep Marbled rock alive from being destroyed by battle.

Marincess Coral Triangle

Coral Triangle is our Marincess trap searcher. She can send 1 WATER from our hand to the GY to add 1 Marincess Trap from your deck to our hand. Usually we add Loading... from our deck to our hand. She also has a GY effect where we can banish her from our GY to Special Summon Marincess Link Monsters from our GY who's total Link rating = 3. Do note it has a HARD WATER summon restriction to use her effects. So, if you summon a non-WATER monster before you summon this card, you cannot activate this card's effects.

Marincess Great Bubble Reef

Ah yes, the biggest of all bubbles. Great bubble reef is our true main boss monster. What makes her good is in several ways:

Every standby phase you can banish 1 WATER from your field or GY, draw 1 card (Do note that she can banish herself which you never ever do)
Each time a monster from either player is banished. She will gain 600 ATK for each one (do note this is a mandatory effect).
You can send 1 WATER from your hand to the GY, Special Summon 1 of your banished Marincess monsters, which can provide extra plays for potentially lethal damage.

She as our boss monster provides the deck with the strength it needs for draw power into our hand traps and next turn play, an overall high attack stat for a lot of monsters to cannot destroy her in battle and can combo into our win condition by Special Summoning one of our banished Marincess Monsters.

Marincess Aqua Argonaut

Oh great Argonaut. Let your beauty flow and pierce your foes with your spear.

Now Argonaut has several effects. First, she can protect all of our other monsters from attacks, and they must attack her first. Second once during our turn, she can target 1 WATER Monster we control and 1 Monster opponent controls and return both of them to the hand. Third and last, during the opponents turn, she can negate the activated effect of 1 spell/trap your opponent controls by Special Summoning one of our equipped Marincess Monsters.

She is our primary boss monster as her effects help on the control game with her negate and protects our Loading... from any potential early attacks like from Loading... .

Marincess Wonder Heart

Wonder Heart, one of our Worst boss monsters that has an animation. All she does is provide battle protection and Special Summons an equip Link to attack with. She also has a floating effect to Special Summon 1 Link 3 or lower Marincess monster from our graveyard. I would not recommend running her at all as there are better options that exist.

Main Deck:

Abyss Shark

Abyss Shark is one of our extenders. It can Special Summon itself from our hand to our field if we control a WATER Monster. When doing so it can all 1 level 3, 4 or 5 Fish Monster from our deck to our hand, usually this would be Loading... . Do note that you will be locked into WATER monsters for the rest of this turn after you use this effect. It can also make one of our Number monsters inflict double battle damage when it battles an opponent's monster. This effect is most irrelevant, but we do run Loading... which fits this effects criterion. Its other effect can make itself a level 3 or level 4 monster for XYZ material for a Number monster. This is usually Loading... once again.

Usually, we use Abyss Shark for Link material for our Marincess plays as it provides a +1-combo advantage on our board thus making a normal 3 card combo into a 2-card combo.

Silent Angler

Silent Angler is our main search card from Loading... and can provide one of our extenders. It can inherent Special Summon itself from our hand if we control a WATER Monster but do note we cannot Special Summon from our hand for the rest of this turn after we summon angler this way.

It can also be a good starting extender for our Link plays. It also provides level 4 WATER attribute for our Marincess Link plays and Bahamut Shark Xyz Summon.

Silent Sea Nettle

Silent Sea Nettle is one of our best extenders. It provides level 4 WATER attribute for our Marincess Link plays and Loading... Xyz Summon. It has a Graveyard effect to reshuffle up to 3 WATER monsters back into the deck by banishing itself to resource recovery our Marincess and WATER cards back to our deck/extra deck. Do note it has a HARD WATER summon restriction to use its effect. So, if you Special Summon a non-WATER monster, you cannot activate this card's first effect to Special Summon itself from the hand.

Splash Mage

Splash mage is a great Link monster that provides one card combos into our boss monster Loading... . It can also provide plays into Loading... into our win condition. Splash mage can Special Summon 1 of our non-Link Cyberse monsters in defense mode for additional Link climb. Do note that if you activate his effect, you will be locked in Cyberse Monsters for the rest of this turn.

Accesscode Talker

We all know Accesscode Talker by now, Our secondary boss monster that can non-target destroy 1 card your opponents control by banishing 1 Link monster from your field or GY and can use 1 of each attribute as cost per turn. Its effects cannot be responded to and can make itself either 3300, 4300, 5300 ATK based on the Link rating of 1 monster you used to summon it (1000+ attack per Link rating). We don't run accesscode as much now but it still worth the mention.

Bahamut Shark & Toadally Awesome

Bahamut Shark and Toadally awesome. These cards are really good for Marincess as Bahamut can summon out Toadally via its effect and Bahamut can be used as additional Link plays afterwards as it cannot attack if you activate its effect. Toadally is the Omni negate that can Tribute itself or a Aqua monster, negate the activation of Spell/traps and/or monster effects and you may set them to your side of the field if you negated the activation of a card on the field. When it is sent to the GY, it can return any of your own WATER Monsters from your GY to your hand/Extra deck including itself.

Number 4: Stealth Kragen

Stealth Kragen is our control card that can win games by itself. It changes all monsters on the field to WATER Attribute. Once during the main phase you can quick effect non-target destroy 1 WATER monster your opponent controls and if you do they take damage equal to half its attack. It does have a floating effect that can Special Summon Loading... if you're running it in your extra deck.

Pot of Desires

Pot of desires is a great and risky card as it does banish the top 10 cards of your deck face down and provides a +1-card advantage overall. It’s up to your personal choice if you want to run the card as I won't ever. A good card overall for Marincess to get more consistent but at the cost of maybe losing your main field spell Loading... or other certain cards if you forced to use it early.

Cynet Mining

Cynet Mining is our main search spell. Discarding 1 card makes you add any level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from your deck to your hand. Since Marincess is all Cyberse Monsters, you can get almost any of the combo pieces needed for the combo.

Small World

Small World is an additional search spell that can work with Marincess. You banish 1 monster from your hand, banish 1 monster from your deck that shares exactly 1 and only 1 of the following traits: Attribute, Attack, Defense, Level and Type as the monster you banished from your hand. Then add 1 monster from your deck to your hand that shares exactly 1 and only 1 of the following traits: Attribute, Attack, Defense, Level and Type as the monster you banished from your Deck. It does make Marincess run additional monsters like Loading... and/or Loading... to make Small World at high consistent use.

Triple Tactics Talent

Triple Tactics Talent is a strong card for Marincess. Considering we do get hand trapped a lot by cards like Loading... and Loading... . Triple Tactics Talent provides us a strong use of either being a Loading... , Loading... or Loading... depending on our situation.

These cards should be included in almost any Marincess deck.

Optional Tech Cards:

These cards are more optional choices to any Marincess deck but not highly needed.

Additional Tech Cards:

Fury of Kairyu-Shin & Torrential Tribute

Fury and Torrential tribute are interesting cards. Fury is the searcher for Torrential tribute and has a GY effect to protect all your WATER monsters from 1 destruction card effect. Torrential Tribute as we know is a board wipe of destroying all monsters on the field when a monster is summoned. Use Torrential's synergy with Fury and all your WATER monsters are not destroyed and your opponents are.

Gozen Match

Gozen match is a powerful Floodgate Trap that controls the players to only have 1 attribute face-up on the field. It has very strong synergy uses with Marincess as its entirely WATER attribute. You are not affected by Gozen most of the time except from some extra deck staples, handtraps and maybe some monsters like Loading... . It prevents almost any Kaiju monster except for Loading... to tribute over your Boss monster. If running Loading... . You can make all your opponent's monsters WATER attribute making them unable to summon any non-WATER monsters while they control a face-up monster that is changed to water via Loading... continuous effect.

Other Tech Cards:

These cards are more optional choices to any Marincess deck but not highly needed.

Overview:

What board to aim for?

The main board outcome you are aiming for is unaffected Loading... with up to 3 equipped Marincess cards and Loading... on your field with Loading... in your hand.

Any additional extra cards in play are either Set Spells/Traps or Loading... . This optimal board should be aimed either going first or second, preferably first as it provides a strong Unaffected monster with high attack that can beat almost any monster in battle and provides high card advantage providing extra resources for next turn plays.

Seeing your Wincon?

Turn 3 onwards is where you should be aiming for your win condition if it's possible. A more common win condition in most scenarios if you have the hand and field is Loading... + a high number of Marincess Monsters for bounce and lethal damage. Other win conditions will appear over the board state of the game you're playing of course.

Choosing between Argonaut or Bubble Reef

Usually Loading... would be our primary boss monster but you can summon Loading... instead as your boss monster. While Bubble Reef doesn't provide the spell/trap negate and bounce, she can provide card advantage and a much higher body on the field. Usually the best plays of summoning Loading... as our boss monster is best out of 3 formats vs certain decks where Aqua Argonaut is irrelevant but Master Duel ladder doesn't have a best out of 3 format so Bubble Reef as our first summon wouldn't be ideal, but some community Master Duel Tournaments do have best out of 3 formats where Bubble Reef can be used more as our boss monster.

Combos

Marincess has over 90 different combo combinations due to the sheer complex of the deck's combo order and diversity. Ther end board is mostly the same but with different orders on whatever your starting cards are.

Anyway, here is majority of the Marincess combos:

If you want to learn some Toadally Awesome Combos, i reccomend asking in the MDM discord server in the Marincess Channel or learning them yourself. Most of them are 3+ card combos which I will not be mentioning them. There are some Loading... 2 card combos shown below.
