Introduction

Sky Striker is a control archetype found in Singular Strike Overthrow that focuses on a toolbox of powerful Spell cards and a series of Link Monsters able to be Link Summoned into each other. With the exception of two Spell cards, all the Spells can only be activated if you control no Monsters in the Main Monster Zone and gain additional effects if you have 3 or more Spells in the GY.

The deck is incredibly good at out resourcing the opponent with cards like Loading... while maintaining board presence with the hard to out Sky Striker Ace - Raye. The core is also fairly small, allowing for a wide variety of customization and tech choices.

Core Cards

Main Deck

Sky Striker Ace - Raye x3

The most important Monster in the Main Deck. The Quick Effect has a variety of uses such as getting in extra damage during the Battle Phase, dodging effects that target it, triggering our Link Monster's effects on the opponent's turn, and unique interactions with other Sky Striker cards. The floating effect from GY is also very powerful and makes it hard to OTK us or completely out our Monsters.

Sky Striker Ace - Roze x2-3

Not as good as Raye but it gets us to our Sky Striker Link Monsters so we run her for that reason alone. It allows for some extension into higher Link climbing or pushing for game and the summon from GY effect has some neat interaction with cards like Nibiru, the Primal Being. The negation also doesn't target.

Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage! x2

Card not found (Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage!)

Engage is the main search card of the deck and an extremely powerful one at that. Not does it give a free draw in addition to the search if we have 3 spells in the GY, it also does not have a once per turn clause. Resolving this card multiple times in a turn lets the deck snowball in card advantage.

Sky Striker Mecha - Widow Anchor x2

Widow Anchor is our main piece of interaction. Negating Monsters is good but the stealing effect from having 3 Spells in the GY is powerful as well. Using this on our turn lets us attack with the stolen Monsters and then either use them as Link Material or use other Sky Striker Spells to get rid of them. Note: You must be able to negate the Monster with Widow Anchor in order to take control of it.

Pretty good intro. Lists all the major components. Hope they fix the Shizuku + Multirole bug soon.

I'm fairly inexperienced to the TCG when I decided to craft this deck in Master Duel (familiar at least this was a good archetype). I learnt early on that this deck had really cool plays and plays a control style that I like but that I was punished very obviously when I did misplays against decks I had little knowledge on (combo pieces, backup plays, when to disrupt).

Please could there be a guide on the or included in this specific to Sky Strikers of when to use your disruption cards against meta archetypes.

That's exactly what i was thinking. New to TCG and I also have no clue what anything else does, So here i am making the decks i struggle against the most on new account and finding out their weak points myself. lol I think they should add how to counter/optimal time for disruption etc.. , for all decks being made.

The Anytime tournament decklist example is so bad, I really wouldn't recommend anyone go with that list. It's incredibly suboptimal.

Hi. What are your critiques? I’m just starting this archetype and absolutely love it. This is my first control deck. I don’t have the deck list above, but I am tweaking between matches. I would love suggestions on this deck. Thanks in advance!

This.

No hercules which is a severely underrated card, no kaiser which takes the 'control' aspect of this deck to the limit, there's no reason to put reinforcement or terraform since shizuku/engage should be doing that job for you already, only one afterburner, that thing works on hand traps alone

Kaiser is trash, don’t play it
