What does runnick branded offer over the normal branded despia decklist? I'm quite curious about it
Nothing special, best runick variant is pure runick and best despia variant is branded despia as for now

I think he meant did the deck win because of it's archetype card or win because of floodgate in the deck.
You're right. I was judgement in my response. I'll give a legitimate answer.
If you run floodgates with a strong deck that can ignore them, you're bound to do really well in some matchups, but if people have the outs to your floodgates then tough luck.
That's why, along with the duelists who used those decks, the top placing decks utilized the adventure engine and/or cards that only lose to one of the floodgates e.g. Despia only loses to Rivalry, PK to TCOBO, and Heroes because they have a searchable Macro Cosmos which kills the Runick engine.
Well all you have to do is look at the runick lists to understand that it doesn't need floodgates to perform well. Sure floodgates can carry decks, but runick's engine is obviously strong enough to win games on its own. Memeing on runick = floodgates hurrhurr is honestly in bad taste when you can obviously see that there were non floodgate lists in the top cut.
