Season 13 TB LL Report

Matches were all against mediocre Runick & Floo players until Diamond. The deck used was last month’s version with 1 Duster. Even though we don’t have the best matchups, Runick Floodgates don’t really stop us (Except Skill Drain), and Floo lost Barrier Statue so we can reliably make Zeus, then establish our own board.

Diamond 2 was where the challenge really began. Lots of Grass, Dragon Link, Adamancipator, VW, Ignister. I was 1 game away from D1 5 times because 3 of them were Going 2nd VS unbreakable boards and 1 was Going 1st eating Dark Ruler and Evenly.

Branded best matchup somehow.

Deck Changes

On D2 I realize I never made Hraesvelgr and Accesscode, so I changed them to a Revolt package. I thought they would be Maxx C plan Bs but I did not go into any of them either :|

Every time opponent goes 1st I always miss Droplet. Everyone is making unbreakable turn 1 boards so mass negation is super important. Many times droplet is not good enough because of the cost, so Dark Ruler/Imperm can be considered.

I really missed Downerd, so likely I should move out the Revolt package for a Downerd and something else.

It is normal not to see your best combo pieces together, but keep your brain sharp for alternative combo routes.

Beryl Canary?

On a scale of Salamangreat to D/D how hard would you say this deck is to play?

It takes longer to get used to than other linear decks, but certainly not impossible. There is a spreadsheet available on discord for optimal combos.

The 3 main combo lines are:

  • Turquoise Warbler + Fraktall (Full Combo)

  • Beryl Canary + Fraktall (Xyz only)

  • Fraktall + Kerass + Tri-Beast (Fragile Full Combo)

Generally, only these are used going 1st, and going 2nd you make Zeus. To answer your question, it takes more time to get used to than Salamangreat since there are more cards to read and there is more than 1 route you can take.
