Notes & Combos
Best way to play Blue-Eyes is control version (ft True Light), since Blue-Eyes cards are slow, but they have big bodies to complement Skill Drain/Trap/Control cards.
I opted to play pure version of Blue-Eyes, since I want to reach D1 again by playing pure version post Jet and Tyrant Dragon's arrival, after I reached D1 using True Light control version too few months back before Jet and Tyrant came to Master Duel. Heavenly Prison is a really great card to search Dragon Shrine/Bingo and removal cards such as compulsory evacuation device or Harpies Feather Duster.

I know one exists already, but if allowed the opportunity, would you be willing to write an updated Blue-Eyes Guide on this website? You seem to have a good streak with him, and I know there are plenty of Blue-Eyes fans like myself.

Gonna give this a shot, I've peaked at Plat 1 with my Blue Eyes-Rank 8 XYZ deck. Big fan of blue eyes too, love to see it in a competitive format.
Question, any reason for no handtraps? Do they interfere with the consistency?

Kind of—Ash does not matter as much to you since you don't really have any combos aside from White Stone > Blue-Eyes. Maxx C could be helpful, but similar to Ash, this card doesn't do much for your deck since there aren't that many combo cards. Having actual traps also synergizes well with Jet and Heavenly Prison, giving the cards destruction protection and Spell/Trap searches, which could turn the tides if you need a card like Harpie's.
Most importantly, a lot of the traps in this list are anti-meta, with Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror and Dimensional Barrier directly disabling your opponent from doing any setup if they run the Branded engine.

I also used blue-eyes xyz deck to Plat 1 on Season 2. So glad someone else like the xyz variant too. There are 3 handtraps actually, called infinite impermanence. I opted to only run 3 of it because it synergies well with heavenly prison's search effect and tyrant's recycle effect. Like Cheemzburbger mentioned, I ran strong anti-meta floodgate cards like shadow-imprisoning, D barrier, skill drain, and summon limit to counter meta of the ladder. With these floodgates, handtraps are not mandatory in control decks.
