Notes & Combos
Up until my last 15 games, I had the same deck I made it to Diamond 5 with earlier this season with an addition of a Veiler along the way.
After having some issues with Diamond 3 where I kept winning then losing or when I finally made it to Diamond 2 and got kicked down back to Diamond 3, I wanted to see how things would go by cutting the deck down to 40, bringing Brigandine down to 1 [as it sucks if you draw multiple to open with and really, Redoer on turn 1 is strong.. however, I took what I got from the Link Fest to have more reactive traps so your hands in theory are more live to interrupt/do things]
While drawing multiple Prison isn't great, it can also be helpful to get a "free" 3k mon out/get things going. I was thinking that the 1 Brigandine would be a good Prison search for follow-up. [if you don't just kill next turn with Prison + Compulsory, which happened a bit on empty fields/when you have cards to get things to go through]
My biggest complaint though is opening Fleur + Ecc + Punishment too often together. This was when I had 2 Punishment and 3 Ecc in the deck... however, even after the above changes, Fleur found its way into my opener a bit with nothing other than traps.
This deck still really struggles against Branded/Despia [they seemingly always open Branded Fusion from my games], however, in my last 47 games.. I only saw 3 in total. Other than that, I saw 8 Floo in that total as well. Everything else was all over the place, which makes teching hard.

Here is the original deck I hit Diamond 5 with this season [S10]:

Here are the stats again from Plat 5 -> Diamond 5:
Overall: 26-6
Flips: 23-10
Won flip/Won game: 18
Won flip/Lost game: 5
Lost flip/Won game: 8
Lost flip/Lost game: 1
Lost flip/game didn't connect: 1

Following that, here are the stats from Diamond 5 - Diamond 1:
Diamond 5 -> Diamond 1 stats:
Overall: 68-58
Flips: 68-59
Won flip/Won game: 45
Won flip/Lost game: 23
Lost flip/Won game: 23
Lost flip/Lost game: 35
Lost flip / game didn't connect / got a loss: 1
Kind of shocked how the overall w/l record tied up in the end with how my w/l for flips were. The only difference is losing the 1 coin flip where the game didn't connected, sat there for minutes, and then gave me a loss, which put me at 1 loss away from deranking from Diamond 2 the first time.. which did occur. I believe that was my only derank of the season. Last game, I was in a good spot against Virtual World going first, however, they had Called By for my Ash on Kauwloon and then had Gamma in their opener when I used Gravedigger's on a VW monster and was going to pop Chuche. From that point, I was out of anything to stop them from popping off. [my last trap was Compulsory, which I was going to use to bounce whatever VW monster they summoned to stop their plays]

Here's my overall record from Plat 5 -> Diamond 1:
Overall: 94-64
Flips: 91-69
Won flip/Won game: 63
Won flip/Lost game: 28
Lost flip/Won game: 31
Lost flip/Lost game: 36
Lost flip/game didn't connect: 1
Lost flip / game didn't connect / got a loss: 1
The win rate in both games and flips really gets pumped up by my Plat 5 -> Diamond 5 run, as you saw, I only lost 6 games while climbing and I believe most were when I just ranked up, so it didn't cause me to have to win "extra" games.

While no one else on MDM has made Diamond 1 this season using Traptrix (or have at least reported it to get it uploaded to the site), I have seen a handful of Japanese players on Twitter posting decks that seemingly bolstered pretty good win-rates.
- One was using Branded Fusion + Dogmatika + Snow + D Barrier among other things [ https://twitter.com/_XtraptriX_/status/1580923162035834881/photo/1 ].
- Another was a more pure build that was running Anti-Spell [ https://twitter.com/3346_misiro/status/1580513277674950663 ].
- The last one I saw was on a more banish everything/teched out deck with Solemn Warning, D Shifter, Macro Cosmos, Alpha, Dogmatika, and with some less "normalized" ED choices [ https://twitter.com/Yuki_Kazamine/status/1579079158017425408 ]
So depending on how "pure" you want things to be and not to rely on floodgates/more meta things like Branded to win will determine what you want to do with the deck. Oh and how dumb you are to constantly grind stuff out in this sort of meta. lol
I'd be interested in trying more spicy things out in the ED/main deck, however, given how tight UR dust can be, it has kept me from crafting things whenever, unless if I really felt like I wanted to use it at the time.

have you tried using Grave of the Super Ancient Organism's to win over your despia and swordsoul match ups?

I'd be super interested in seeing some replays. I know Traptrix sometimes gets meme'd on (heheh trap deck monke flip) but I'd love to see some instances of close games where your decision making either make or break it.

Only have 3 games from last season saved at the moment with 1 being from the link fest. Not sure if they are the best games, but they at least had some back and forth, as opposed to I feel like most games in this meta.
I also have been streaming once a week on Twitch, so I'm not sure if flipping through any of those VODs would help.
Also, yeah. I feel like most of the time, you kind of use things right away, since if you don't, you might get blown out anyways, but it does matter occasionally if you grabbed Floodgate Trap Hole or Gravedigger's Trap Hole with a Myrm on turn 1... although.. then again, with the variance in decks you can face.. it's also pretty hard to know which is the right call.
