Notes & Combos
This deck was made primarily with going in second in mind and has only really been tested going second. Extra deck can be modified as needed it is generally just there to use pot of extravagance

Most turn 1 boards can’t preempt, set 5, pass turn. It’s generally safe for trap decks to go second, and generally burn can weave through a serious board without breaking it because Burn is trying stack damage, not create a lockdown like Eldlich or Traptrix. Plus, Maxx C gets worse, not a lot worse but still worse, after turn 1.

is 2x extrav and 2x desires actually optimal? i wonder if 3x of one of them and then 1x of the other would be better

I can understand not leaning into Card of Demise because 12 monsters, 9 that are hand traps of some sort, creates nombos. Would you still consider like a one off because it’s a rapid card advantage and bricking it entirely is pretty low?
Also, thoughts on Ojama traps? I know they aren’t nearly as good as the heyday before synchros, but the tokens can still create a burst of damage and rarely still block certain moves.

you can try to run it as a one of since there are still times where you would want the draw 3 but as you motioned playing more monsters in hand reduces how much you can get out of it commonly. As for ojama's they can probably be worked in to make this more of a going first deck in an attempt to stop plays or create more damage for game.
