Notes & Combos

I would not recommend building this deck unless you
A) are okay with grinding for hours for a net +2-3 game wins B) are okay with being stuck around platinum/low diamond. C) idk just love Ghostricks as much as me :,)
I did the best with what I had regarding Ghostricks. A few attempts were made, including the Psychic / Adventure turbo build but just didn’t love it. There is literally nothing Ghostrick about that deck. Its not Ghostrick. So instead I made this to prove Ghostricks can reach Diamond I if you’re patient enough and learn them inside an out.
I also tried more streamlined “pure” builds or more diverse monster lineups, and its just not doable when competing with Diamond decks.
So scrap all of that and you’re left with backrow, hand trap, Ghostrick pile :) This is absolutely a going 1st deck. This deck cannot break boards and really struggles going 2nd against even 1 interruption.
Tip: Use TCBOO + Scare wisely. Turn opponents deck off at optimal points. And make sure you have FD Fiends when you’ve got hand trap battle tricks. Also don’t worry about the Spellcaster link 1 since it can be made with FD cards!
Stall and survive is the name of the game. The deck slowly shuts games out with Scare + Nights + TCBOO and in a format filled with Prank, Floow, Tenyi Adventure, Dragon Link this is a good gameplan. If the format tilts to a going 2nd (Storm, Evenly, etc.) the deck will struggle much more.

Would you be able to share or recommend a writeup/video on learning Ghostrick interactions? I love the concept and want to learn/master them but feels a bit overwhelming as they individually don't seem strong at all.

Probably cause he doesn't have good targets. It protects face down but not his flood gates or field, it searches traps but they get banished so reactionary ones like solemns and mirror force are out, same for tcboo cause continuous. The rest are searchable by angel, leaving it with the only good target being pot of desires.
Monster destruction protection isn't needed when you got tcboo, the ghostrick field and udf.

Very nice, mad respect. My only disagreement is with saying combo Ghostricks aren't Ghostrick lists and that there is nothing Ghostrick about them. it is a quality of the archetype that allows them to use the huge amount of generic support that they possess to splash and be splashed. Their engine(s) provides Ghostrick plays, such as field support, recursion looping shots for bodies and access to XYZ specific boss monsters. As well as some other applications such as festival enabling dogmatika>shaddoll and festival parallel being able to extend plays for rank 4 archetypes, as well as ghostrick or treat giving free resources to trap supported archetypes and even turboing out neko locks using sprights (once they come) cause neko and socuteboss are level/rank 2.
I prefer your list over semets cause its imo better build. Semets build I think, didn't need scare or the 3 Gt main deck cause they are bricks, dogmatika is better suited for a control style cause it special summons itself with 1 Gt monster, while if you draw too many in combo you probably can't do your combo and I think there are better engines than predeplant currently cause of 1 scorpio and Imo his turn 1 would improve vastly if he gave it a PK base.
still respect to both of you for proving that Gt isn't as bad as people say.

I get this argument 100%. I think someone with my logic could defend that this deck isn’t really Ghostrick either and just Solemn, TCBOO, generic trap deck with some monsters that basically attack directly due to the field. So this is a very fair point.

This deck has literally 28 ghostrick cards in it. The other one had, like, 6. How can you honestly not see a difference.

because I don't tunnel vision and bring my archetype down for not being able to flip monsters facedown in a combo build.
this archetype has more distinct characteristics than just I can flip things. Such as every win condition, multiple levels and types, field support, being able to summon a link facedown, flips without the flip, playing for any playstyle. And most importantly as a result of all of those and more they have the biggest most extensive card Library they can tech into, generic and none.
You're not being a better Ghostrick player, a more unique Ghostrick player or having more fun with Ghostricks by disregarding Combo tricks as not Ghostricks and not real Ghostricks and just a boring pile. You're simply limiting the skill set, depth, deckbuilding and fun this archetype can be, can have and can do.
You're just the same as the other end, who consider control strats as bad and main Ghostricks as ****.
