Notes & Combos
Hi. I'd appreciate any advice because I'm probably making lot of mistakes yet. Here are my thoughts about the deck:
-
Heatsould ended up being rarely used, almost only when my opponent forced me to.
-
At first I played 14 handtraps because I thought Heatsoul would be summoned more often and drawing into hand traps by it's effect is great, but then I tried 12.
-
I dislike the idea of playing Crossout without Nibiru, but Nibiru wasn't very useful versus Branded Despia and flowandereeze and not popular, so I tried Droll but I was never able to use it because I opened maxx c versus flowandereeze all the time. XD
-
Parallelel exceed for bagooska to help versus flowandereeze and Branded Despia.
-
Salamangreat fowl's second effect forces the activation of spell and traps on the field and I haven't realized how good it can be until platinum 1. It won me the last game to Diamond 5.
-
I'm not sure about Falco but since I'm using both traps, I decided to keep it in the deck. Opening one trap helps to make a stronger board when going first and 1 Roar almost never show up.
-
I tried 2 Wolf but some macrocosmos beat me.
-
Linguriboh wasn't very useful but I had to keep it for Heatsoul. The most flexible spot is Heatleo, which I replaced by Almiraj very often during the platinum climb. If you open only hand traps and Parallel exceed, Almiraj can save your hand. I needed in my last game but didn't have it.

My man! Gotta shout out to someone actually seeking advice on this platform. Salads are one of my favorites. Happy to throw in my op.
I’m climbing plat right now, and my most common starting board is bagooska plus heatsoul. Heatsoul plus wolf with a trap would be ideal but takes a better starting hand. What was your main starting board? Wolf and linguriboh?
Splash mage is the easiest way to make heatsoul. Just make sure you make bagooska first since splash mage locks you into cyberse.
Yes, fowl is so good!
The only difference on my list is that I included 2x pot of desires instead of rage and crossout for ultra consistency and even more hand trap draws. With heatsoul, I’m drawing a 5th card on their draw phase. Bagooska plus usually 2 hand traps is a challenge to play through, even for best decks.
If all else fails or you get interrupted, apollousa is a good back up for 2-3 negates. She comes up way more often than heatleo in my experience, even though it feels like heatleo needs a place just for style.

Hey! Thank you for your comment. First of all, I wanna say that I'm at diamond 3 right now with a completely different version since my first duel in diamond 5. xD I'm running lady debug over bufferlo, harpie's feather duster and 2 desires. I'll come back to something similar to my original version now, I think.
I might be messing up with linguriboh because I can't see why people run it since splash mage can summon Heatsoul too and Linguriboh takes a precious spot in the extra deck (I think Almiraj would be more useful, to play bricky hands, summoning bagooska off a handtrap + exceed). I think I mess up with the link arrows and can never do something useful with it.
I try to have bagooska + roar and a link salamangreat as my starting board and handtraps as bonuses. I think this board is difficult to break. I haven't summoned heatsoul that often, unless my opponent has 2~3 handtraps and I can't build my board, so I summon heatsoul and try to win by card advantage.
Apollousa is a card I haven't tested yet in Salamangreat. I like heatleo a lot. Removing the last droplet/ impermanence / called by to make the way free to accesscode is very useful.
Don't we get notified when someone leaves a comment? See you and good luck on your climb. ^^
