Notes & Combos
Why is this variant good?
- Higher ceiling and board breaker resilience going first compared to pure yummy due to backrow/hand trap suite/gy interaction
- Consistent removal via Shuraig (untargeted) or DDL, 11k+ damage for OTK & can play grind game if needed
- Built around beast cards so certain handtraps also behave as extenders (fuwa + dd crow)
- Lean engine offers more room for HT/board breakers compared to other hybrid variants
- Tri-Brigade engine forces out bad trades and is more than capable of getting a link 1 body on the field to overwhelm disruptions
With a lot of competitive builds out rn, tri brigade yummy presents unpredictable angles to attack so it's been a fun grind to learn the ins and outs of this build. Matchup wise, toughest would be elfnote or ryzeal mitsu because they easily set up massive boardwipes/omnis and my disruptions don't impact them as much as other decks.
Harmonia/spark are the strongest hand traps to respect, big thing is getting to cupsy before you get hit, everything else is a nonfactor
Tech choices: Crown is good in yummy for the same reason it's good in sky striker imo. It thrives in decks that are designed to move fast and shuts down key monsters. It also synergizes well with the OTK potential I referenced earlier.
