Notes & Combos

  • My luck with Dracotail ran out thanks to the banlist, so I played Kewl Tune (for the first time). This deck's end board can be very deceiving sometimes, but it has so many layers. The mechanic is broken where it allows you to banish and manipulate the top deck, look at the hand, and banish up to 5 ED monsters if you go first. It can potentially NORMAL summon THREE TIMES thanks to Rotary and JJ. Can OTK through or play around Maxx “C”, Retalliating “C”, Fuwa, Shifter, Droll etc.. Deck can also run 2 Omni Negates (although you can dodge and play around them). Some even play the floodgate Naturia Rosewhip (I did not play this). And it can harbor a bunch of hand-traps. It can also dodge targeting effects (like Imperm/Veiler), thanks to Kewl Tune Synchro. Can be untargetable and indestructible thanks to Loudness War.

  • The most fun part, it can potentially Synchro summon SIX TIMES on your opponent’s turn thanks to Clip, KT Synchro (up to 2x), Remix, and B2B.

  • The best hand-trap that I played is Ghost Ogre. It destroys Lupis if it tries to Quick XYZ on your turn, destroys VS Start! Which prevents VS extensions/follow ups, destroys Albaz if they try to cheese you with Sanctifire, destroys Varuroon so they cannot place Mandate, destroys R.B. Funk Dock, destroys JJ "Kewl Tune" in the mirror match and the list goes on.

  • My losses mostly came from TIME OUT because it was my first time playing the deck and the information overload from my own deck and opponent’s deck can be overwhelming and time consuming (at least for me).

  • Overall a KILLER MECHANIC (see what I did there?) and a very high skill ceiling. Rewards players that know the meta so well but can also lead casuals like me to Master because the deck plays itself for me or YOU!
